At over 8,000 members, Carpenters Local Union 157 is the largest local in the country. Additionally, it is one of nine Locals in New York City that are under the umbrella of New York City District Council of Carpenters. The jurisdiction of Local 157 covers parts of the Bronx and expands down through the southern tip of Manhattan.

Our carpenters do much more than simply work with wood, in fact, modern construction carpentry has a much more multifaceted scope of work. The brothers and sisters of Local 157 are proficient in working with drywall, concrete formwork, acoustical ceiling systems, millwork, framing, protection, store fronts, and much more.
